The technology used in theBoom line of noise canceling headsets
was invented when UmeVoice engineers tackled one of the greatest obstacles to accurate speech recognition: background noise. In order for speech recognition software to work, the computer needs to be able to "hear” what the speaker is saying. Previously, the loud, chaotic noise of the trading floor prevented the application of voice recognition systems.
To address this problem, UmeVoice engineers developed a revolutionary new headset design that "focuses” the phone's microphone on the speaker's voice and only the speaker's voice. Even in the chaotic environment of a Wall Street trading floor, users of our handset and voice recognition software can communicate as if they were sitting in a private office.
Subsequently, UmeVoice engineers went to work to miniaturize and modify our technology for integration into a variety of products that rely on clear speech input. theBoom is the result of this effort and the first product that makes this revolutionary technology available to consumers.
In addition to Wall Street, theBoom technology has been applied in other high noise environments like: aviation headsets, warehousing, nuclear power plants, professional racing, and call centers. theBoom has won numerous accolades for being best noise canceling headset, cellular phone headset, computer headset, and aviation headset in the world. theBoom is the only headset that will work in a convertible with the top down.
In the past we've always compared the Sennheiser ME3 to other microphones because it was the crème de la crème of the microphone world. This is no longer the case.
theBoom tied in first place with the Hybrid Sennheiser ME3 microphone for noise canceling but bested the ME3 in accuracy. Although each of our test subjects produced different accuracy scores, they all had one thing in common. All test subjects scored 2% higher accuracy with theBoom. The average test subject scored 96% accuracy with the Sennheisers and 98% with theBooms which roughly translates into 50% less errors with theBoom microphone.
theBoom microphone also includes additional amenities such as:
Unlike our competition, our price includes the PC sound card cable which is required for speech recognition
Lightweight and rugged construction (weighs less than 1 ounce)
Can be used with PC/VoIP as well as most cell phones and wireless landlines
Soft pliable parts that can be bent for custom fit
7. Microphone mute switch and volume control
8. Includes wireless landline phone cable
Just wanted to say thank you for your help in training DNS. It has been a heck of a lot more accurate and is much more pleasurable to do dictation on it! theBoom "O” mic rocks also now that I don’t have it so close to my mouth. I like it A LOT better than my Sennheiser ME3.
